The Finlayson Muni in a new building right next to the Fire Hall in Finlayson Minnesota has a kitchen and offers new items and specials seasonally, their Friday fish specials during lent were great! Recently they have added salads and wraps to the menu. Their menu is ala cart and provide generous portions.
The food product has changed slightly since first opening and I am a bit of a potato snob, that being said I much prefer the original fries they had to the new ones,that's just me. The originals were a fatter battered type french fry as opposed to the new skinny fry similar to McDonalds in appearance. The prices have only raised slightly in the last year and are still a good deal with good size portions.
The offsale is well stocked and included a beer cave and some odds and ends at the counter you may want to pick up on your way out the door.
The muni and the whole town take their holidays and seasons seriously with special events,costumes,and drink specials. I highly recommend their bloody mary with the pickle vodka.
4th of July and St. Urhos day are the most popular and long standing traditions.
The bar has activities all through the week on a regular basis including Bingo-Meat raffles-horse races and pull tabs-puzzle parties and I believe once even a spelling bee (which I did not participate in) :)
There is always a good number of people around so you won't get lonely or lack in people to chat with. If your'e not a talker they have tvs that can be seen from no matter where you sit and a wall of Veteran photos with locals to look at.
