Skip and Speedy Talk Bold & Beautiful on a day off

Skip and Speedy the resident experts and Uber fans of the Soap operas have drinks over a lively conversation about B&B history and current story lines.

Skip says: Brooke is getting what she deserves! The whole bunch of Foresters especially Steffie. I just loved seeing Hope on the runway but mostly Katie finally after playing second fiddle to Donna and Brooke. Katie deserves this win and has earned it. Brooke is so full of herself telling Katie she can't even use her own name!

Speedy says " I know but poor Eric looked like he was gonna have a heart attack, I feel bad for him.

Skip "No way he screwed Katie over and then lied to everyone and is trying to play the victim. Too bad ya old bugger! hahahaha

Speedy-Well I just hope there aren't legal issues for Hope, she was under contract with Forester wasn't she?

Skip- I don't know but she is her own person and Steffie has been putting her off way to long. It is her work Forester doesn't own her ya know.

Speedy yes yes your right lets get some food and another drink.

Bakeries and Bars in BrookStone Square

BrookStone has several bars and several bakery's- Beezies Bakery and Bonny Bakers are two of the most popular and are always fully stocked being in the Square with all of the foot traffic and Square visitors from the countryside.

The Sloow Bar and Benny's Bar are two of the busiest bars throughout the day a.m. to p.m. serving a grill menu of great variety for breakfast,lunch and dinner. A full menu of specialty drinks and the old favorites alike. Both bars feature entertainment throughout the week and indoor/outdoor dining.

The two bars serve a very different customer base that once in a while overlaps.

The Sloow Bar has a staff that meet up to the name but that doesn't mean you don't get great service. The bartenders at Sloow Bar make sure soap operas are on and turned up in timely manner-no jukebox during the soaps. Right now The Bold and the Beautiful and Day's of our Lives are the top runners with General Hospital next and The Young and the Restless comes in a lagging last.

The bartenders can give most all of the history of B&B and settle any arguments. Other times when it is slower they stream old episodes and do their research. Skip and Speedy Turtle basically run the place and they love their soap operas. Sloow Bar is also the best place to go to get local gossip, those turtles got it goin on when it comes to soaps, on and off TV.

Benny's is a little more for the faster crowd who like their nipnog and catnip fast and furious. They like the music loud and the refreshments flowing and a mix of bartenders keep up with this crowd. Dippers Pub is the tourist favorite and always busy with locals and out of Towner's alike. Fast paced -good food and a large up to date drink selection.

Simple Summer Birthday Cake competition

The Brookstone Summer Birthday Cake competition takes place in each contestants kitchen. The competition showcases not only the Simple Summer Birthday Cake but also puts a lot of emphasis on a Cottagecore style kitchen. Below are images of this years finalists. BrookStone prides itself on old fashioned nostalgia in cooking and decor in it's homes and businesses. It is a place that feels like home even if you don't live there.

BrookStone is a thriving tourist destination year round with quaint little shops and museums, outdoor markets and parks and cozy homes in to die for neighborhoods. BrookStone square has every little shop you may need and several apartments above the businesses. Tenants are mostly long term and have everything they need within walking distance in the Square. The square is a popular place for socializing and shopping errands alike.

The Cootagecore kitchen and Birthday Cake bake off boasts images of all the contestants' kitchens and includes them in the Fall Tour of homes each year. The tour coincides with Holiday decorating contests starting in the Fall and images are entered year round for each season and holiday. Halloween-Fall and Christmas are the largest, but each entry and holiday is spectacular in its own right and included in the Museum photo room.

Some of the best bakers and baked goods in the world come from Brookstone and can be purchased in local bakeries throughout town.

Seasonal farmers markets also carry fresh organic ingredients for purchase one to three times a week dependent on seasonal availability. Several smaller local greenhouses grow produce year round.

Frogs IZ people too

The Frog Club was always hopping at 5:00 filled with frogs from all walks of life. Businessmen from all over town blue collar workers and some stay at home frogs came to drink beer, smoke cigars and eat popcorn. The card games were especially popular. Sometimes they played until way into the night.

There were stories of crazed women attempting to slam frogs and toads in doors!! Humans are nuts! One frog from the North end of town put together a campaign to educate humans on frogs and toads and other amphibians.

They marched holding signs saying AMPHIBIANS are People Too!!

They spoke about how they were never included in major holidays and that they were tired of being left out. They loved holidays! They dispelled vicious rumors of peeing on people and many were in local church choirs. They loved to sing.
